First Time Fumbles Contest - And Redtini's Judge's Choice Award goes to... ME!!!! YAY!!! :D

So... I had entered the First Time Fumbles Contest and yesterday they had picked their winners.

I didn't get a first, second or third place award, but I did win a Judge's Choice award. Redtini (@Retini1), the author of the fabulous stories How To Date a Movie Star, How To Marry a Movie Star and How To Live With a Movie Star, picked my story, Life Changing Experience. I am so honored because she picked my story out of all the others as her favorite.

This is my winning banner!!

I've entered many contests in the last two years and haven't won anything. Of course I'd be sad because there were other stories better than mine and they'd win. Most of the time there were so many entries for the contest, and I'd read them, that I'd just know those authors' stories were so much better than mine. I survived though and kept going, writing more and submitting more into contests.

I was glad to be part of a contest and know something of mine was read and considered to be in the race for a winning spot, and always I congratulate those winners because they ultimately deserve it.

Writing Life Changing Experience was a little hard at times because of the theme - a couple's first time, whether popping someone's cherry or just taking the plunge together, and being able to make it a beautiful experience or something so awkward. But I didn't want to make it so sappy and then again so awkward for Bella and Edward. I kept it funny and romantic, with just a little bit of the sappiness of the realization they both had at the end, and the awkwardness of the morning after going through with their first time.

When I got emails from Twitter late last night with tweets after tweets with comments, favorites and retweets ('cause I wasn't on Twitter watching @FirstTimeFumbles live tweet the results at the time), I got so excited to see that Redtini picked my story as her favorite. All of yesterday I was feeling slight anxiety over RL crap (school! what is new with that?!) that seeing that tweet saying I won as her pick, it all melted away.

I'm so happy to have won as Redtini's choice for this contest. I congratulate all the other winners, and wish the authors of the other entries the best in their writing. There are so many other contest out there now and in the making to enter :)

Thank you to any who read Life Changing Experience! I appreciate your votes and reviews/comments on how much you enjoyed it. I plan on writing more stories and more contest entries, so look out for those!!
